OBSERVANT
You need to learn to pay close attention to
details. When you enter a room, take a careful look at the fittings, arrangement
of things, people in the room; expression on their faces and most importantly
the atmosphere of the place before you sit down comfortably.
A lot of
people have run into serious troubles by not paying attention when needed the
most.
Being
observant is not the same as being suspicious.
In Africa
where I used to live, so many people fell victims of kidnappers who parade as
commercial buses and innocent passengers will board this vehicles and half way
into the journey, the bus conductor and his cohorts who had disguised as co
passengers will suddenly bring out guns and hold the innocent passengers
hostage. Rob them of their money and valuables, some are thrown off the bus
while on top speed and they die, others are killed or taken to a shrine to be
used for money rituals. Most of such disasters could have been averted if the
individual was observant enough to look at the faces of the occupants of the
bus before boarding such vehicles. A tout will always leave a clue, no matter
how much they try to pretend or disguise as normal people.
I remember
the true life story of a guy who wants to enter an eatery and the glass door
refuses to open, and he kept struggling, trying to open the door by force
because he could see people sitting and eating inside the facility and he keep
wondering how were they able to open this door. Meanwhile the people inside
where wondering if this guy is insane or a maniac, because it is clearly and
boldly written on the door, ”DO NOT COME IN THROUGH THIS PLACE, USE THE NEXT
DOOR”.
